Sonakshi Sinha, who celebrated her 28th birthday yesterday, had her 'Dabanng' co-star Salman Khan throw a surprise party for her at his Panvel farmhouse last night. Apart from her family and friends, several industry folk also attended the do.

Says a source, "Sonakshi Sinha had been saying that she loves receiving surprises on her birthday. When Salman Khan got to know about it, he decided to make her big day extra special and threw an impromptu bash in her honour."

Adds the source, "It came as a huge surprise to Sonakshi when she was told to leave for Panvel for the bash organised by Sallu. He is always known to be a good host so he had lined up the choicest of delicacies and a huge cake for the birthday girl. Everyone made merry as they danced to all the chartbusters from Salman's films including the 'Dabangg' tracks."

Sonakshi Sinha remained unavailable for comment.
