The "Main Tera Hero" actor, who already endorses Pond's, says he wanted to bring the brand on board to promote one of his previous films too, but it didn't fit the movie well. However, with "ABCD 2", the product has turned out to just right.
"It's a great integration... with 'Badlapur' there was obviously no fit, but with 'ABCD2' there was a direct fit. I am a dancer (in the film), there is energy, it's youthful... so, I think the fit was really well," Varun told IANS.
"ABCD 2" is a 3D film, and for the event, the team staged a 4D projection performance.
"I was like an excited child," Varun said.
The "Anybody Can #GetRecharged" gala started with a performance by composer duo Sachin-Jigar, who have worked on the tunes of the dance-based entertainer "ABCD 2", a sequel of "ABCD - AnyBody Can Dance".
"We are pretty excited as 'ABCD2' is very close to our hearts. We have been working on it for about a year and a half, and so we are looking forward," Sachin told IANS.
The finale act at the event saw Varun -- who has been a part of the Pond's Men family for the past two years -- sporting a boy-next-door's look in a white t-shirt, jeans and a red cap. He danced on the tunes of "Bezubaan phir se" and "Naach meri jaan" to present Pond's Men -- Pollution Out face wash, which contains coffee bean icy scrub and activated carbon -- through 4D technology in a dance choreographed by Remo D'Souza.
The product is to keep skin issues caused by pollution, at bay.
"This deep cleansing face wash with coffee bean icy scrub and activated carbon will remove dirt and pollution particles from your skin and leave you feeling energised," said Srinandan Sundaram, vice president, skincare and colours, Hindustan Unilever.
