Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi says on-screen kissing has lost important in the current era because every other movie features intimate scenes.

"It (kissing scene) lost value long back. I didn't think it had shock value when I started off but obviously it did. I didn't think about it too much but people around were more conservative than me," Emraan told PTI here.

The 35-year-old actor is happy to be a part of upcoming film "Hamari Adhuri Kahani" and says he wants to do more emotional roles from now on.

"I think when mature film comes my way I am spoilt by choice, I want to play more emotional roles. Something in this film has touched me and I want to do more such film that evoke that emotion. I feel the industry will see me in a different light post 'Hamari Adhuri Kahaani'," he said.

The film, directed by Mohit Suri, also stars Vidya Balan and Rajkumar Rao and will hit theatres on June 12.

Emraan said people were eager to see another romantic act between him and National Award-winning actress Balan on the big screen after they starred in "The Dirty Picture".

"Even Milan Luthria (Director of 'The Dirty Picture') told us there was something in our on-screen chemistry and we should do an intense romantic film. He was also going to offer us a film but things did not work out.

"We did "Ghanchakaar" which was ten years in a marriage and yelling at each other we didn't have much scope and then we have HAK this an out romantic film (HAK)," Emraan said.

"She (Vidya) is as grounded as she always was, she is still professional and she puts in her heart in her characters, she brings out that special spark in every character and keeps it real," he said.

"I am more chilled out person. I am extremely sensitive but I don't show it, I don't think many men have this trait that they want to act like the tough one and I think I am like that. When I face the camera I just leave all the emotions for the screen work," he said.

Considering HAK is about married couple, when asked about the secret of a successful marriage, the actor says, "I am a very difficult person to be with otherwise, difficult as in what the professional brings to it and being a wife of an actor especially to be a wife of an actor Emraan Hashmi would bring out more obstacles for any woman.

"I think what makes a marriage work is respect, freedom, being liberal in a relationship, trust. Sometime you just let a relationship go and when its broken you fix it and not just throw it away. Every relationships has fights and debates arguments and you have to over come that," the "Ashiq Banaya Apne" protagonist said.

The trailer of "Hamari Adhuri Kahaani" looks different from what Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt's home production company -- Vishesh films have been making till now. "Bhatt (Mahesh Bhatt who has written the story) saab has always written very emotional based scripts that are semi autobiographical and when I heard it out I was like this is something that I want to explore because very few films can touch the emotions and extract stuff that you have not kind of touch upon before.

"In that sense you could say in that last decade or so Vishesh Films have not come out with such a film but now with Bhatt saab decided to write up, he has kind of soaked in so many experiences and put it into the script,"the further said.
