As the buzz around actor Shahid Kapoor and Delhi college student Mira Rajput's impending wedding gets stronger, we look at other B-Town stars who married non-filmi personalities.

R Madhavan: The 'Tanu Weds Manu' star is happily married to Sarita Birje, who was an airhostess when the actor first met her in the early 90s. Madhavan was teaching public speaking, and Sarita was one of his students.

Emraan Hashmi: The serial kisser of Bollywood married a pre-school teacher Parveen Shahani, in 2014, after dating her for over six years.

Ayushmann Khurrana: The 'Vicky Donor' star is married to his childhood sweetheart Tahira Kashyap. Ayushmann and Tahira attended the same physics tuition class during junior college, and both had a crush on each other, which eventually transformed into love.

Madhuri Dixit: The 'dhak dhak' girl broke millions of hearts when she tied the knot with a cardiovascular surgeon from Los Angeles, Dr. Sriram Nene, in 1999. Following marriage, Madhuri relocated to the US for almost a decade, but returned to Mumbai in 2011.

John Abraham: Not long after his breakup with Bipasha Basu, John tied the knot with Priya Runchul, an NRI financial analyst and investment banker from the USA.

Shreyas Talpade: The actor who has tasted success in both Marathi and Hindi cinema is married to Deepti Talpade, who is a psychiatrist. Shreyas met Deepti when he went to her college as a celebrity, and apparently love blossomed soon after.

Imran Khan: He is married to Avantika Malik, daughter of Vandana Malik, who was the former Executive Director of Network18 group.

Shah Rukh Khan: Gauri Chhibba, (now Gauri Khan) who holds a Bachelor's degree in History, fell in love with the actor during his struggling days, and the two tied the knot in 1991.

Vivek Oberoi: In October 2010, the actor tied the knot with Priyanka Alva, daughter of Karnataka minister Jeevaraj Alva, in Bangalore.

Sunil Shetty: The famous action hero of the 90s is married to Mana Shetty, who is a fashion designer as well as a social worker.

Kunaal Roy Kapoor: He got married to his school friend Shayonti Salvi in 2005. Shayonti was an interior designer and now is a ceramic artist.

Perizaad Zorabian: The actress married a man incidentally named Boman Irani in 2006. This Boman is not an actor but a construction tycoon!
