Incidentally, she's the only actress in the film who's been featured on a fashion calendar in real life. Says Kyra, "I was a Kingfisher Calendar girl in 2013. I was told Madhur Bhandarkar was making a film on the lives of Calendar Girls. I went and met him. He told me, Your looks fit the bill, you must give an audition. They had finalised the rest of the four girls and were still looking for Sharon Pinto. He told me he needed someone who is a very good actor and a performer for this role. I auditioned for three different scenes and was selected."
Ask her how she considered acting and she says, "I did a bit of theatre and that is when I realized my true calling as an actress."
She's already shooting her second film, Balaji's nextXXX, where Ken Ghosh is the director. The film is being touted as India's first youth erotica film. "I play a character that is completely different from Sharon Pinto inCalendar Girls. So I feel I am very lucky that I am getting to play such different roles at such an early stage of my career."
