The longest-running dance show on television is all set to come back.
Sony's Boogie Woogie which until two years ago, was the channel's biggest USP for the TRPs is all set to make a comeback from early June.
According to Sony sources this decision to bring back the perennially popular dance show was prompted by the over-weening popularity of Star One's Nach Baliye which incidentally is also poised for a second innings.
Says Shola Rajachandran of Sony, "We're a nation of dancers and singers. We love to shake a leg. The popularity of Boogie Woogie is irrefutable. It had to be back. The show was a winner for nine years."
Hosting the show would be the trio of trademark dancers-anchors Javed Jaffrey, his brother Naved Jaffrey and Ravi Behl.
In the new format for Boogie Woogie, to be telecast over 26 episodes, there will be two championship contests, one for the mothers and one for kids. Moms between the age of 25 and 55 can participate in the mom's championship.
Auditions for the show are to start from April 24.
