This of June will see the release of sequels of two mega blockbusters -- Koi Mil Gaya and Hera
Pheri.
With the first quarter of the year giving the super hit 'Rang De Basanti' and money grossers like
'Malamaal Weekly' and 'Taxi No 9211' among others, these two sequels are being awaited with much
curiousity.
'Krrish' stars Hrithik Roshan who plays the son of his character in 'Koi Mil Gaya' opposite Priyanka
Chopra, while Bipasha Basu makes a crackling entry into the already uproarious world of Baburao
(Paresh Rawal), Akshay Kumar (Raju) and Suneil Shetty (Shyam)-the trio in 2000's runaway hit 'Hera
Pheri'. The sequel 'Phir Hera Pheri' is scheduled to be released in June 2006, according to trade
sources.
Produced by Firoz A Nadiadwalla and directed by Neeraj Vora, 'Phir Hera Pheri' stars Akshay Kumar,
Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Bipasha Basu, Rajpal Yadav, Johny Lever and Rimmi Sen.
The roller coaster ride of the sequel takes off from where 'Hera Pheri' ended, retaining the original theme
of the movie and also the chemistry between the characters.
'Phir Hera Pheri' is a rib-tickler, which promises to outdo the success of the original. The sequel picks
up from where 'Hera Pheri' ended, which saw the trio-- Baburao, Raju and Shyam- rise from rags to
riches.
With Johny Lever and Rajpal Yadav added to the comic presence, 'Phir Hera Pheri' is
sure to make the movie as one of the most hilarious flicks of the year. The glamorous Bipasha also
adds a dash of her comic talent to the movie, the film's director Neeraj Vora told reporters here
recently.
In 'Phir Hera Pheri', the Hera Pheri trio, Baburao, Raju and Shyam look for best ways to invest the
fortune they acquired in 'Hera Pheri'. Raju who doesn't lose any opportunity to strike gold comes up with
an investment plan that would double up the money.
The only hitch, though, is that the minimum investment required is more than the amount they saved up
together. To come up with the money, Raju skillfully ropes in a couple of investors and adds an
interesting twist to the whole experience without a hint that it will get back at him.
Rajpal Yadav plays one of the investors who borrows money from a Don which causes the funny punch
in the whole comic adventure, the director added.
