The Fault in Our Stars was originally a best selling book written by John Green in 2012 that was adapted into an English film by the same name in 2014.

The English film went onto becoming a big grosser at the box office. The original film is about a young girl who is a cancer patient who is forced by her parents to attend a support group, where she subsequently meets and falls in love with a young boy who has also suffered from cancer.

While the story will remain of two youngsters who are terminally-ill patients of cancer, who fall in love, the USP of the Hindi adaptation will be the humour with which this heavy subject will be dealt with.We have exclusively learnt that the gorgeous Deepika Padukone has given her consent to be a part of the film that is being directed by one of her closest friends, Homi Adajania, and produced by Dinesh Vijan. Deepika will finish promoting Sanjay Leela Bhansali's dream project Bajirao Mastani this year end and then get on to shooting The Fault In Our Stars adaptation that will release sometime next year.
