Adorning an elegant champagne silk dress, Kalki set the ramp ablaze with her scintillating presence, much to the delight of the audience, who cheered the actress.
"It is magical, it is detailed. The vibe which he was created is more like something which you can take a stroll rather than walk the ramp," Kalki told reporters here about Gupta's special creation for her.
Gupta's collection entitled "Silt and Cipher" began had about it. An entrancing musical score, coupled with subtle, organic colours, Gupta's collection truly mesmerised the audience.
Some of the fabrics used in Gupta's collection wee silk organza, chiffon, georgette, silk crepe, delicate laces, tafetta, which he was used with colours like champagne gold, silver grey, ivory, beige and corn.
The show progressed with lighter hues and went on to display darker shades, until Kalki made her presence felt on stage with a dashing entry, which left the audience gasping for breath.
Renowned for his edgy designs and futuristic concepts, Gupta lent his avant-garde vision to the event with his collection which gave form and definition to Indian silhouettes - playing with layering, drama, intricate embroideries and flowing fabrics.
With this collection, Gupta aims to target "all the brides in India, all those women who love couture".
"She is a global bride, the one who is a travelling woman, and is thinking and explorative. My garments are also keeping in mind the other peripheral functions/ occasions at a wedding - be it 'sagan' or 'mehendi' or a cocktail evening," he told IANS at the sidelines of the AICW.
