Sarla Sarogi, wife of Ashok Sarogi, lawyer of extradited gangster Abu Salem, has planned to make a film on the life of Salem.

Sarogi said Salem had given a nod to Sarla to make the film and it was planned to shoot the movie in two months.

The script is almost ready but the cast has not been finalised and once that was done an announcement to this effect would be made, he said.

Efforts are being made to take Salman Khan in the lead role to play Salem and N Chandra to direct the film which shall be the first on the gangster's life.

Earlier, Salem had moved a TADA court to restrain Mahesh Bhatt from releasing his film "Gangster" saying it was made on his life.

However, he withdrew the petition after the court declared that it did not have the jurisdiction to decide the issue as he had raised infringement of constitutional rights.

The producer had told the court that Gangster was not on Salem's life.
