In debutant director Karan Anshuman's quirky movie about two blundering suicide bombers on a mission to change the world, Riteish will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar of a terrorist.
The actor, who is respected for his comic timing, is said to have pitched in a praise-worthy performance in this film. Riteish, who earned ample praise and awards for his role as the villain in Ek Villain, also made an impact as the protagonist in Lai Bhaari. Those in the preview circuit, who have seen Bangistan, believe that the actor could well be on a hat-trick. The trailer and the promotional campaign of the film, that also features Pulkit Samrat and Jacqueline Fernandez, has already created a buzz among the audiences with the unique premise and the quirky way of putting across a social message of maintaining peace. Riteish says, "Bangistan is a satire, far different from the comedies that I have done before. It was fun yet challenging, as my character, Hafeez, is the more passive one of the two. The humour element in the film is subtle and poker-faced. It is based on the philosophy that less is more." Bangistan, presented by Junglee Pictures and Excel Entertainment, releases today.
