Ranbir Kapoor, who is going through a rough phase in his career, says he has a lot to prove with his upcoming film "Tamasha".

Ranbir's last few films like "Besharam", "Roy" and Anurag Kashyap's ambitious project "Bombay Velvet" bombed at the box-office.

The "Rockstar" actor will be seen opposite his former girlfriend Deepika Padukone in Imtiaz Ali's "Tamasha".

"I have a lot to prove (with 'Tamasha'). There is lot (riding on me as an actor) as my last three films haven't done well at the box office.

"I have given equal amount of respect and hard work to all the films. We have made a good engaging film and hope the audience likes it," Ranbir told reporters here last night.

When asked if he would like to do an epic film, the actor jokingly said, "I think 'Bombay Velvet' was an epic film but it did not become one."

Ranbir also has Anurag Basu's "Jagga Jasoos" lined up this year with actress Katrina Kaif.
