"I made a good film last year...that one film of my career has happened. I have achieved what I wanted in my life...I have done that with "Queen" (getting overwhelming response). I am now burden free," Vikas told reporters here at the trailer launch of his upcoming film "Shaandaar".
In 2011, Vikas co-directed "Chillar Party" and in 2014 came his independent directorial venture, "Queen" starring Kangana Ranaut, which received critical and popular acclaim.
His upcoming project is "Shaandaar" is a romantic comedy, starring Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Pankaj Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor and others. The film is set to hit the screens on October 22.
"Shaandaar happened because of Shahid Kapoor. I am happy with the way the film has come out," he said.
Vikas says he doesn't think about having a soul in his films and it just comes from the story.
About Shaandaar, which has exotic locations and grand sets, he said, "In my last film (Queen) the budget was less so we worked that ways. With Shaandaar I had Karan Johar so this time we spend more money on it".
