Milap Zaveri's 'Mastizaade' starring Sunny Leone, which had been denied a Censor certificate earlier, has now been cleared with an 'adult' tag after the makers agreed to cut a few scenes and dialogues. The adult comedy was supposed to hit the marquee on May 1, but the Censor Board, at its various levels, had rejected it for its risque content.
Milap Zaveri says, "We are happy and excited to get a clearance. We will announce a release date soon. The film is an adult comedy and in anticipation of cuts from the Censor Board, we filmed extra shots. We have chopped some scenes here and there, but they do not affect the film in any way."
'Mastizaade' producer Rangita Nandy refrained from sharing details on the number of cuts effected to obtain certification. "I can only tell you that we have escaped unhurt and the impact of the cuts are not that bad. Though it was not an easy process, we managed to pull it off and had a quiet celebration for it. We are now looking to release the film as soon as possible since it is ready," she adds.
