This Mother's Day, working mothers come in for special praise from their children who plan to honour them with gifts of cards, flowers, chocolates and sentimental accolades on Sunday.

Here are some celebrity mothers and daughters who spend quality time with each other despite hectic career schedules with the mothers unabashedly described as "super-moms".

Sameera Reddy (Actress): When I decided to be an actress, it was a 360-degree turn for me. My father wouldn't even talk to me about films but mom supported me. My mom is a 'super-mom' and I am so proud of her.

She said that if Sameera wants to join movies, then let her do so. My mom is so proud of me and so is my father. But he was shocked to see my dancing. I had learnt Kathak on my own without telling them.

Niky Reddy (Sameera's mother): Sameera was a tomboy. She was always called for repair work. Whether it was car, toaster, telephone or any other such gadgets, she was very good with them. She wanted to be a businesswoman and when she decided to be an actress, it was surprising but I enjoy her star status.

When I go to the market, I get special treatment and I am truly enjoying it. My biggest joy was when I saw her first film "Maine Dil Tujhko Diya" because my little girl had suddenly grown so big.

Pooja Bedi (TV hostess and former model): I think today kids are more aware and they understand that work is very important. We do breakfast together. I am very lucky to have children like these. They understand that mamma has to work and it is important. I am not a conventional mom and outsourcing mom.

Aalia (Pooja's daughter): She is my 'super-mom' because she is my 'super-mom'. She does everything for me. I want to become an artist and she buys everything for me like colours and notebooks. Sometimes I don't feel good if she comes late and I generally ask her why you came so late. But then she gives us lots of time from her busy schedule. So it is okay.

Archana Kochar (Fashion designer): I think today duties of a mother have increased. Now a mother is contributing towards the wholesome development of their children. Today their visions are also wider. Now we give more freedom to our children and see that we do not take out frustration on the child.

Instead of breathing down their neck all the time, we give them space while our guidance is there all the time. We do not crowd them but are always there when they need us.

Simran Kochar (Archana's daughter): My mom is very nice and I think she is my super-mom. She plays with me, she makes me study and she helps me in my homework. She loves me so much and that is why I love her. My mamma is the best mamma in the world. She spends time whenever she gets time.

Konkona Sen Sharma (Actress): She (mother and filmmaker Aparna Sen) is one person whom I would look up to. At home she has always set high standards for us to follow. On the sets she is the best director today.

Even at the cost of sounding arrogant, I would say that she is the best director. She knows exactly what she wants from her artistes. She is a perfectionist and nothing works with her except the best. She would not allow any laxity on sets just because I am her daughter.

Shirley Singh (director of music group "Kanga Beat Band"): Nowadays even kids are so mature that we don't feel pressurised. They really understand that mama has to work and has to go out. They (children) understand and appreciate what we are doing because it gives them their space as well as a chance to be proud of their mother.

Rachel (Shirley's daughter): My mom is super-mom because she is very nice and very helping. She helps me in doing my homework and keeps track of everything... what I have to do and what I want to do. In fact, she knows what time and where we need her. This is biggest thing that I like about my mom. Whenever we get a holiday, she spends her lots of time with us just to make us feel better.

Jiya Singh (daughter of Diya Singh, producer of Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin): We (children) are her first priority. She doesn't do my homework, but she helps me in all the other things that I want to do.

I try to get good marks without her help. Sometimes I feel that she should be with me doing some fun things. I wanted to become a creative writer since I was eight years old.

I think she is my 'super-mom' because she manages everything so well and works day and night for us, for our studies and all and try to keep us happy.
