While celebrating the Champions for Earth Week, a week-long, global gaming tournament in co-operation with the Earth Day Network, gamers will be treated to Sonam Kapoor in an Angry Bird avatar while they battle it out on their computer screens. Not only will 'Sonam Bird' be seen as a caricature, she will also be one of the gamers for the week.
The event which goes live on September 21, is celebrated simultaneously with the United Nations Climate Change Week. This year, pop singer Shakira,Vampire Diariesactor Ian Somerhalder and Academy Award winner for Erin Brockowich, Dany DeVitto, have also been animated for the game. Sonam will be the first Indian to come on board and is a part of Angry Birds Friends.
"Sonam was asked if she'd be interested in getting an animated avatar of herself in the form of an Angry Bird caricature which would appear as one of the characters in the upgraded version of the game. She immediately put on her game face,"a source close to the actress informed Mirror.
Since the creators of Angry Birds, Rovio Entertainment are partnering with the Earth Day Network, players around the world battle it out against celebrity participants in a climate change theme. "One of the key rules of the game for the week is that the players will have to pass the fact cards in the game that only Sonam will have access too. At a time, there will be six players online," adds the source.
The actress was trending with co-star Hrithik Roshan on Twitter recently following the success of the music video,Dheere Dheerewhich hit 30-million views this week.
Recently, she shot an exclusive video in Karjat to launch her Angry Bird character. When contacted, she said, "The Champions for Earth video is beautiful. The team has done a fantastic job with their designing of the bird. I enjoy playing the game and I am happy to be a part of it in the Champion Week."
