In an interview with Rajat Sharma on the show 'Aap Ki Adalat' on India TV, the 34-year-old "Comedy Nights with Kapil" star said, "Even Shah Rukh Khan and (Amitabh) Bachchan sir are doing TV shows while working in films. Nowadays, nobody is confined to a single genre." Sharma is making his foray into Bollywood with filmmaker duo Abbas-Mustan's romantic-comedy, which also stars Arbaaz Khan, Elli Avram, Varun Sharma and Manjari Phadnis among others.
The comedian, who took a break from hosting his hit show recently, said he did so because of a major injury. He was, however, thankful to Sajid Khan and Arshad Warsi for hosting the show on his behalf.
"I had suffered a major injury while shooting. I had to do workout early mornings to reduce my flab and walking in the hot sands of Rajasthan was really tiring...
There was so much exertion that I had difficulty in moving my legs.
"My doctors advised three weeks' bed rest... It was good that Sajid (Khan) and Arshad (Warsi) hosted the shows, and they did it very well."
'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon' is set to release on September 25.
