Juggling Hollywood and Bollywood with equal effortlessness, Irrfan is back on the silver screen with Meghna Gulzar'sTalvarafter delivering an understated performance inPikuearlier this year.

On the international front, he was last seen in the hugely successfulJurassic World, which released a few months ago. Content-oriented cinema has always been the actor's forte. Irrfan plays a CBI officer inTalvar, which also stars Konkona Sensharma and Neeraj Kabi. The film, which is based on the Aarushi Talwar murder case, adopts Akira Kurosawa'sRashomonstyle of narration. It is unbiased in showcasing the investigations carried out by the Noida police and two different CBI teams, who were divided in their opinion whether Aarushi's parents - Rajesh and Nupur Talwar - were guilty or not.

Irrfan stayed true to his reputation of being a meticulous actor and did an in-depth research about the Noida double murder case. He even requested Meghna and the film's writer Vishal Bhardwaj to share their notes with him to get a better insight into the characters. With his curious eye for detail, the actor took a month to prepare for his role.

Talvar recently premiered at the 40th Toronto International Film Festival and received an overwhelming response.The film's initial reviews claim it to be a powerful whodunit.
