Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was 'chased' by a tiger for 4 kms at Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) in Borivali, Mumbai on Tuesday.

Debuting as Maharashtra's 'Tiger Ambassador', Big B was attending the ongoing wildlife week celebrations held inside the park when the incident occurred.

Big B shared his story on social media and posted photos of the experience.

He tweeted, "T 2019 - In close company of the Big Cat .. !! And this on a road in the heart of the city .."

On Facebook, he added, "FB 1109 - Here it is .. in the company of the Big Cat .. in the heart of the city .. you cannot imagine the forests that abound in the heart of urban Mumbai .. This tiger chased us for 4 kms .. very unusual .. they do not normally do this .. It is in the SGNP Reserve, right within the Film City, where we work so often .. incredible !!"

At the event, Amitabh Bachchan lauded the rich biodiversity of the urban forest and asked citizens to pitch in for its conservation.

The Bollywood superstar also released a book that contained the pictures of 345 leopards that were found during the recent camera trapping study at SGNP.

On the Bollywood front, Big B was last seen in 'Piku' with Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan. He is now gearing up for the release of 'Wazir' with Farhan Akhtar.
