The Censor Board may have granted an 'A' certificate to Kunal Khemmu-starrer 'Guddu Ki Gun' with a few cuts here and there, but the makers of the upcoming sex comedy are finding it tough to kickstart their promotional campaign. The risque promo is yet to reach television viewers - the target audience for filmmakers.

Shantanu Ray, co-director of the film, says, "It is an adult comedy minus vulgarity and abusive dialogues. However, the theme itself made it difficult for us to secure the Censor Board's approval. They recommended a few ways of presenting the promo on TV.

The small screen is the best medium to reach a wider audience. When larger viewers are not aware of a film, how do we begin our publicity campaign?"

The film is slated to hit theatres by the month-end and a mellowed-down version of the promo will air on TV this weekend. "Initially, we submitted 12 promos, all of which were rejected. Then we came up with nine toned-down versions, but they too met with the same fate. They recently approved three promos that were so tame they barely reflect the theme of 'Guddu Ki Gun'," rues Ray.

The co-director says he understands the certification was a tough call on the Board's part, but is worried that the promo issue might put the film's prospects in peril. "We could retain only the comical element in the TV promos, which will air in a few days. We will have just about 10 days to market the film," he adds.
