"Scoring music for non-musical subjects is very difficult. Madhur Bhandarkar makes hard hitting realistic cinema and it's not possible to place unwanted songs in his films," Tandon said at the release of the music Thursday.
"Madhur and my musical tastes match and with him I get a free hand to recreate melodies of the past. We got a lot of critical acclaim for our music in 'Page 3' and I pray that our audiences appreciate our music in 'Corporate' as well," he added.
The music of the film was released by Asha Bhosle, who has sung the theme song "Lamha lamha zindagi hai" that is reminiscent of old time melodies and plays in the background throughout the film.
"Music is a very essential part of any film. The songs take the narration of the film forward and thus form an integral part of the film as a whole," said Bhandarkar, whose pre "Page 3" films, "Chandni Bar" and "Satta", were appreciated but not for the music.
Kailash Kher and Sapna Mukherjee have sung a pop qawwali in "Corporate". For the title song, Alisha Chinai has teamed up with Gary Lawyer while Vasundhara Das crooned a groovy number.
Produced by Sahara One Motion Pictures, the film stars Bipasha Basu and Kay Kay Menon in the lead. Rajat Kapoor, Raj Babbar, Harsh Chhaya, Minissha Lamba and Sameer Dattani will also be seen adding glamour to it.
The music is distributed by Universal Music Group and is available at all leading music stores across India.
The film, which tackles the underbelly of the world of business, is expected to hit the screens in July.
