In a letter addressed to the Association, Bhagwagar has requested it to investigate the matter and arrange for a special screening of the film for the actress before permitting its release.
"Initially, we thought, the name of the film being the same as of the actress was coincidental. But with reports about the film having similarities to her real life, we became skeptical.
If there are any sequences in the film which resemble Meera's life, then the makers should have taken permission for the same," said Bhagwagar.
"Meera is in Pakistan right now and is expected to return to Mumbai in the first week of July. If the news is true, she will take legal recourse", he added.
'Rockin' Meera' is directed by Param Gill and stars a host of Indian and American actors including Sonu Sood (of 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' and 'Yuva' fame), US-based rapper Terance Quaites (popularly known as TQ), Debra Wilson, Fatso Fasano, Nicole Cherie Saletta, Sayaji Shinde, Sachin Khedekar and actress Nauheed Cyrusi (of 'Inteha' and 'Holiday') playing Meera.
It can be recalled that the said film was in controversy earlier too when a unit member had misbehaved with actress Nandana Sen, who then walked out of it.
