Veteran actor Anupam Kher will be essaying the role of Mahendra Singh Dhoni's father in the upcoming biopic on Indian captain.

To be directed by "A Wednesday" famed director Neeraj Pandey, "MS Dhoni: The Untold Story" will have Sushant Singh Rajput playing the lead role of one of the most successful Indian skippers.

Kher, 60, who is in Kharagpur for film's shooting, took to Twitter to share about his role during a Q&A session with fans.

"I play Dhoni's father Paan Singh," he replied, when asked about his role in the movie.

Pandey and Kher have earlier collaborated on films like "A Wednesday!, "Special 26" and "Baby", and the actor said their bonding is one of the main reasons for him to sign the biopic. The film also stars "Fugly" actress Kiara Advani as the cricketer's wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni.
