His ‘Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota', stars a medley of stars like Konkona Sen-Sharma, Irfan Khan, Ayesha Takia, Jimmy Shergill, Paresh Rawal, Boman Irani, Saroj Khan and Ratna Pathak Shah.
The film is about four parallel stories that converge together at the end because the debutant director thinks that it's an interesting form to explore as two-and-a-half hours of the same story can get boring.
Naseeruddin ranks Konkana as one of Bollywood's extremely talented actresses and perhaps that accounts for Konkana being in the movie.
This film will supposedly be showcased at International Film Festival of India to be held in Dubai in 2006 and it officially releases on July 21, which is just a day after Naseeruddin Shah's birthday.
He reportedly told in an interview, "Ever since I joined the film industry, I knew that I wanted to direct a script on the way I saw life. It took so long because I couldn't find anyone who was willing to finance the kind of project I wanted to do. Finally I found a story that Gujarati writer Uttam Gada had written.''
Naseeruddin Shah was quoted saying, "I think it happened at the right time. May be earlier than this would not have been so good. So, I think things fall in place for you at the right time. Life is series of accidents. And if those accidents happen at the right time then you should consider yourself lucky.
I feel like a 20-year-old. I always felt like that. I have never felt older than 20. And I can still beat lot of 20 years old at tennis. That's how I feel about the new innings, which makes me happy."
Soon Naseeruddin Shah will be seen as the acting instructor at Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods Academy too as reported by a newspaper.
Well, better late than never. What else can we say?
