This would be the first star-studded bollywood event in the West Indies in seven years, since Shah Rukh Khan performed there. Awards in various categories will be presented by the who's who of West Indies.
Karisma, who decided to opt out of the show due to ill health (jaundice), has lamented having missed the opportunity to perform at the Caribbean islands. As Manisha replaces her, an ethnic song sequence has been incorporated to further glamorize the event.
Presented by Tony Maharaj and organized by AIM India (partnered by Chunky Panday and Abhijit Chowdhary), the 'Bollywood Awards' nite will also see Akshay Kumar, Urmila Matondkar, Dino Morea, Gulshan Grover, Alisha Chinoy, Sukhwinder Singh and Kunal Ganjawala perform to 10,000 watts of live music and an expected crowd of 6,000 at the venue – the Center of Excellence Auditorium in Port of Spain.
To add to this, veteran actors Rajesh Khanna and Zeenat Aman will be honoured for their outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.
