While the beautiful actress stays alone in Mumbai, her family, father Prakash Padukone, mother Ujwala Padukone and sister Anisha Padukone live in Bengaluru.
Its a usual trend that Deepika's family members fly to the city to be with her on special occasions and festivals.
However, this Diwali, they decided otherwise, because Deepika was busy promoting her upcoming film.
"[They didn't come] mainly because we (she and co-star Ranbir Kapoor) were in the middle of promotions," says Deepika, who attended Amitabh Bachchan's annual Diwali bash on November 11.
However, Deepika's family is likely to come to Mumbai next week. "I will be meeting my family soon. They are coming for the film's release. My mum was with me when we were shooting for it in Corsica. My family came to Delhi, too, during the shoot. They will be in Mumbai the week the film releases," she says.
Deepika along with her co-star has been generating buzz around town by promoting her upcoming film, Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha.
The film has been the most talked about ever-since the unison of Ranbir and Deepika for the film made headlines, the films music further added fuel to fire.
Tamasha being one of the most awaited films of the year showcases the most loved pair Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, who were last seen together in 2013, coming together on the silver screen on the 27th of November.
Presented by UTV Motion pictures and Nadiawala Grandson Entertainment, Tamasha is directed by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Sajid Nadiawala.
