Aamir Khan's comment on the growing intolerance in India at a recent media awards function has irked many.

The controversial comment has led to a lot of protests outside the actors residence, due to which the security had to be tightened.

Aamir has recently begun shooting for Dangal again in Ludhiana, where he has been provided with extra security. According to a report on Bollywoodlife.com,Aamir is set to head straight to the US, for a short span of time, after the Ludhiana schedule ofDangalis over.

However, it's not confirmed if the trip was pre-planned or if Aamir has decided to lay low in the States after the recent turn of events.
