Pop singer Mika was denied interim bail by a sessions court on Wednesday. Mika had earlier on Wedenesday moved the sessions court seeking anticipatory bail as he
feared arrest in a molestation case registered by Bollywood item girl Rakhi Sawant.
He will now have to appear before the court on June 17 for his bail plea hearing.
Rakhi had registered the case alleging that Mika had bit her lips twice at his birthday party and his gaurds had also assaulted her friend, who tried to intervene.
Mika has been booked under various sections of Indian Penal Code charging him with molestation (Section 354), voluntarily causing hurt (Section 323), intentional insult with
intent to cause breach of peace (Section 504) and criminal intimidation (Section 506).
In his defence Mika said Rakhi had kissed him when he cut his birthday cake. He claimed that she also kissed him later when mediapersons asked them to pose for a
photograph and left the party happily to later return and start breaking the plates. Mika pleaded not guilty and said that these false accusations could destroy his career as a
singer.
