"Comedy is my forte but I want to try everything. Adult comedy is something I find over the top. But I do enjoy watching such films..It should have substance. The treatment has to be mature," Sharman told PTI.
Sharman will be seen playing a business tycoon in "Hate Story 3".
"I want to explore myself as an actor hence I chose to do this film. It is a great story and a good role. I haven't done an erotic thriller so I wanted to attempt that and see how audience reacts to it," he said.
The 36-year-old actor has shed his boy next door image to don a bold avatar in the hit franchise.
"I have always been a fitness enthusiast. But none of the films that I did allowed me to take off my shirt except 'Hate Story 3'."
The film also stars Daisy Shah, Karan Singh Grover and Zarine Khan. "Hate Story 3" is directed by Vishal Pandya and will hit the silver screens on December 4.
