Bollywood biggies like Karan Johar, Feroz Khan, Ayesha Takia and choreographer Shiamak Davar and walked the ramp at a fashion show organised by the International
Indian Film Academy (IIFA) here Friday.
India's celebrated fashion designers Manish Malhotra and Vikram Phadnis enthralled the audience with their exquisite collections at the World Trade Centre here.
They both tried to outdo each other - if Phadnis flaunted vibrant colours and cuts, with flirty skirts and high boots, Malhotra showcased pure whites with streaks of reds,
blues and yellow.
A special collection by Rosyblue's international jewellery designers added extra glamour to the ensembles.
The evening was full of surprises - besides the stars walking the ramp, it saw a unique hand-printing ceremony by IIFA brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan for the IIFA
Wall of Fame.
The handprints will be a permanent fixture at the IIFA Wall of Fame in Dubai Studio City.
Johar had another surprise in store - he interviewed on stage some of his star friends including Anil Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Riteish Deshmukh.
An electrifying performance by British Asian hip-hop stars Hunters, and India's percussion king Sivamani topped the evening.
The make-up department was handled by the world-renowned M.A.C. Cosmetics Company, which brought in more than 17 make-up artists from around the world to style the
look for the IIFA fashion showing and the Red Carpet events. Frank Provost gave the models and stars they fabulous hairstyles.
The show was a well-attended affair. Apart from Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Anil Kapoor, Riteish, Shilpa Shetty, Nimisha Lamba and Shiney Ahuja were seen
at the do.
