Hit Or Miss? 'Hate Story 3' gets unexpected response at BO
Sharman Joshi, Karan Singh Grover, Zarine Khan and Daisy Shah starrer 'Hate Story 3', which released last week, opened to good numbers at the box office. The film collected Rs 9.72 crore on Friday and Rs 17.1 crore over Saturday and Sunday, taking the overall weekend collections to Rs 26.82 crore. The erotic thriller has already surpassed the opening weekend collection of films like 'Piku' and 'Badlapur' which made money at the box-office.

According to trade expert Taran Adarsh, "'Hate Story 3' surpassed everyone's expectations and did really well in its opening weekend. The film will surely grow in the coming days as no big films are releasing this week."

On the other hand Imtiaz Ali directed 'Tamasha' witnessed a major drop in its collections. The film collected Rs 7.7 crore in the second week and the overall collections of the film now stand at Rs 61.23 crore.

"Surprisingly, 'Hate Story 3' got a good opening on Friday and has kept its momentum. By Saturday the film had recovered its entire making cost. The other two releases, 'Angry Indian Goddesses' and 'Kajarya', failed to work their magic at the box office and had to settle for critical acclaim, 'Tamasha' is on the way out as the success of 'Hate Story 3' affected the little chance it had of survival," says Amod Mehra.
