"Everyone thinks I should've played Dick In Tom Dick & Harry. I normally play Dick But sorry I'm Tom the
deaf in Tom Dick & Harry. It's a full-blown comedy, though I haven't blown anyone, " Dino relaxing with his
mom and his dogs in his beautiful new house , chuckles hard.
"Among the many funny things that I got to do with my co-stars was this climactic party where Jimmy goes
as Aamir in Mangal Pandey , Anuj is Salman in Tere Naam and I'm Mr Bachchan's Anthony from Amar
Akbar Anthony...It says it all, doesn't he?"
Dino had a ball shooting the comedy. "It was my first farce fest...See Kya Kool Hain Hum and its whole
male-bonding thing became so successful. So many other comedies followed. Tom Dick & Harry is much
cooler far less raunchier than Kya Kool Hain Hum. I'd never do anything vulgar on screen."
Tom , etc was a full-on comedy. "The concept was funny. There's always room for laughter. Who wants to
watch something traumatic?
I've played serious horny killers and other psychologically disturbed
characters. As Tom I'm just kicked by the flighty ambience. At first I wasn't sure if I could pull off the
comedy. I had a discussion with my director Deepak Tijori.
We did a day's rehearsal to check out
my body language to see if I could carry off scenes where the deaf guy has to communicate with the mute
guy. Luckily I fitted in. I think the timing went well. Once I got confident about my comic timing I was a total
clown in the film, I must say."
Dino's popularity among his co-stars is nearly legendary. "I got along wth my co-stars in Tom Dick & Harry.
If there was a Mr Congeniality contest I'd win it.
Me and Akshaye Khanna got on really well during
our shooting of Dharmesh Darshan's Aap Ki Khatir in England. He's a nice guy. Every evening after pack-up
we were together drinking, chatting...Ludlow was lovely. This movie should put Dharmesh back on the
track."
Dino blissfully plays a two-timer in Aap Ki Khatir. "I'm this Casanova who was seeing one sister and is now
seeing the other sister. Since I've a major roving eye I loved playing this character. I love attractive women.
Healthy flirtation is fine. But I'm not a two-timer, please. I get so serious about my relationships that it nearly
kills me."
Post-Aksar Dino's career is looking upbeat. "The Aksar director Ananth Mahadevan has offered me two
films. I'll be most probably be doing them. One of them is a film for T- Series. The other is a literary
adaptation. Last month my three releases in three weeks made me so much more visible. I wish Holiday
had worked—don't know what went wrong. I worked so hard on my dancing."
Lastly and lustily...Dino's love life.
"I'm in love with everything I see...Right now the love of my life
is my new house. And there's a lady in the house. My mom. I love her. At times I miss a love life. Because I
love the feeling of being in love. When I fall in love I fall very hard. I go mad. That's what love is all about.
After Aksar I just want to build on my career."
