Ace music directors Vishal and Shekhar, who had previously delivered hits like "Salaam Namaste", "Bluffmaster" and "Taxi No. 9211", have scored the music for this comic caper.
"The album has several foot-tapping and peppy numbers along with a track with a touch of the late 1950s. It is quite balanced music that will appeal to everyone," the film's director Rohit Shetty said at the album launch function at the Fame multiplex here Saturday.
"We don't have any romantic numbers. It was a great help from Vishal and Shekhar, who kept in mind the young audience while composing the music," Shetty said.
Most of the tracks are a heady mix of racy numbers crooned by popular singers like Kunal Ganjawala, Shaan, KK and Sunidhi Chauhan.
The title song, sung by Shaan, KK and Vishal Dadlani, is a hip-hop number and is played as the background score throughout the film.
Another track "Aage peechhe", sung by Shekhar and Sneha Pant, is inspired by Hindi film songs of the late 1950s.
The film also has a Bhangda number, "Rehja rehja re", which is currently on air. Javed Ali and Sunidhi have lent their voices to it.
The album also has four remixes done by Akbar Sami.
Produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd and K Sera Sera Productions, "Golmaal" is the story of four friends - Gopal (Ajay), Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor), Mahadev (Arshad Warsi) and Laxmi (Sharman Joshi) who are bound together by their notoriety, aimlessness and petty business of conning people for fun and money.
