When asked about the film, Tiwari responded: "It's shaping up quite nicely."
The director was present at a special screening of 'Star Wars: the Force Awakens', where lead actor Aamir Khan was also present. The film's shooting was held in Punjab and Pune.
Aamir will portray the role of former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat in the film that is jointly produced by the actor, Kiran Rao and Siddharth Roy Kapur. It also stars Sakshi Tanwar, Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra, among others.
The superstar claimed that he was 95 kilos a few months back and now intends to lose the extra pounds to play the younger character in the film.
"Aamir will loose weight very soon. I think when the next schedule starts, He's going to go back to his earlier weight which is like in 'Ghajini' or 'PK'. Right now he's clearly overweight," said Tiwari.
The film also stars Sakshi Tanwar and Aparshakti Khurrana along with numerous new faces.
