There is no need for an aggressive marketing of a film that has in itself the capability to do wonders at the box-office, megastar Amitabh Bachchan said in a blog on Sunday.

Bachchan, who is busy promoting his next film "Wazir", said he does not understand why marketing is the most essential part in movie business.

"...marketing is the most essential part of the making of films. I am unable to understand why... If the film has inner strength, it shall require no (marketing) strength whatsoever," Bachchan wrote.

"...but because there are so many arguments against it, I feel if I oppose it, I would be, well going against the grind so to say."

Produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, "Wazir" also stars Farhan Akhtar, Aditi Rao Hydari and Neil Nitin Mukesh.

The film, directed by Bijoy Nambiar, is set to hit theatres on January 8.
