Acclaimed filmmaker Prakash Jha, who is going to address the dilemma of female cops with his next Jai Gangaajal, was recently invited to address female police officers from across the country at the 7th National Conference Of Women In Police, which was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, at the Central Reserve Police Force Academy, Gurgaon.

The National Award-winning filmmaker was invited to give his opinion on 'Women in Police, Different Perspective and New Roles' and his words made a huge impact on everyone, who attended the conference. Professor Amita Singh, Professor and Chairperson at the Centre for Study of Law and Governance, JNU, New Delhi and Ms. Megha Prasad, Bureau Chief, Mumbai Times Now were his co-panelists at the conference.

Priyanka Chopra is playing the role of IPS officer Abha Mathur in Jai Gangaajal and Jha screened the trailer of his much-anticipated film for the female cops at the event. The trailer got an overwhelming response from the female police officers, who cheered and clapped for it.

It was a lively and enthusiastic interaction and at the event, Prakash Jha said, "My film's lead character Abha Mathur is a tough and righteous cop but she is still feminine and compassionate. Our films need to do a lot more to portray the strong image of women in the police force."'

So impressed and inspired were the women present, at the conference, with the film's trailer and Jha's deep insight into the issue, that they requested him to pose with them for selfies and the filmmaker gladly obliged.

Priyanka is playing a tough cop in Jai Gangaajal, who is introduced into the well-oiled system of the powerful as she is thought to be weak, pliable and easy to manipulate. However, things become difficult for all, when she comes into a confrontational mode.

Written and directed by Prakash Jha, produced by Prakash Jha Productions and Play Entertainment and co-produced by Milind Dabke, Jai Gangaajal revisits the dusty heartland of Central India and examines the society-police relationship. Starring Priyanka Chopra, the movie is all set to release on 4th March, 2016. Jai Gangaajal is not a prequel or a sequel to Ajay Devgn starrer Gangaajal but is a fresh story.
