The actress who plays Neerja Bhanot in Ram Madhvani's forthcoming film Neerja is really looking forward to attending the award ceremony.
The Neerja Bhanot Award is an award of recognition conferred up to once a year by the The Neerja Bhanot Pan Am Trust in India to a woman of that country subjected to social injustice, who faces the situation with grit and determination and extends help to other women in similar distress.
The annual Neerja Bhanot Award was instituted in 1990 and named in honour of Senior Flight Purser, Neerja Bhanot, who saved hundreds of lives while sacrificing her own, during a Pan Am Flight 73 hijack at Karachi Airport in September 1986.
It carries a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh, a citation and a trophy.
Actress Sonam Kapoor was very keen on being a part of the ceremony and now will be attending the ceremony along with the team and real life brothers of Neerja in Chandigarh on 13th January.
The story of Neerja, a real hero will be told to the audiences in Ram Madhvani and Atul Kasbekar's forthcoming titled Neerja which is all set to hit theaters on 19th February.
The trailer of the film which was released by the makers was extremely loved by the audiences as well as the industry. There were a lots of tweets on twitter those were floating on the social media websites supporting the film.
Director Ram shares, "Sonam and I along with Atul Kasbekar and the team are going to Chandigarh to attend the Neerja Bhanot Bravery award. It is going to be an emotional and very special memory. Saluting her and all the other brave hearts on whom the award has been conferred."

Neerja Bhanot Bravery Award in Chandigarh is Bhanot family's small way to make people aware of women like Neerja. I'm glad we will be a part of the ceremony on 13th Jan."
