Model turned actor Samir Dattani feels modelling is a stepping stone to Bollywood.

"It can not be called a back door entry, but the modelling experience does help. How else do you get into films," he questions.

Dattani, who makes his appearance as an executive in Madhur Bhandarkar's forthcoming film ''Corporate'', says he loves films as he feels that people come here from varied backgrounds like ramps, music videos, television, theatre and so on.

''The industry lets you open your own door. There are no fixed rules as such.'' He knew he wanted to do films as early as in the first year of degree college. He made his portfolio which led to 6-7 music videos and 12 commercials.

He made his debut with Rajshri Productions film titled,''Uuf Kya Jaadu Mohabbat Hai'' in which he was paired opposite another debutante Pooja. The film did not do well though.

His second film was ''Pyaar Mein Twist'' starring Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Soha Ali Khan and himself. Dattani has been a Bombay boy throughout as he completed his school from Green Lawn School in Worli and he completed his graduation from H R College of Commerce in Mumbai.

His forthcoming venture is ''Mukhbiir'' which also stars Om Puri, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Sushant Singh, Raj Zutshi, Alok Nath, Kelly Dorji, Rahul Dev, and Dattani is paired opposite co-star Raima Sen. The film is made by Mani Shankar and will be completed by around Diwali.
