Actor Viveik Oberoi is back again with his perfectionist zeal in his ready-to-release "Omkara", an adaptation of Shakespeare's "Othello", for which he learnt to play the guitar.

Directed by Vishal's Bharadwaj, "Omkara" is set against the rustic backdrop of western Uttar Pradesh and Viveik essays Casio's character who is called Kesu Phirangi.

In the film, there is a sequence where Viveik's character strums the guitar and the actor wanted to get under the skin of character thoroughly and started taking guitar lessons. His musician friend used to travel all the way to Wai, near Mahabaleshwar, to teach him to play the stringed instrument.

"Viveik is a very dedicated actor. He started learning to play the guitar only to get into character for the sequence in the film. He has done a fabulous job in 'Omkara'," said Bharadwaj who is quite impressed with Viveik's sincerity towards his work.

This reminds one of how Viveik perfected his character in Ram Gopal Varma's "Company".

He went into the slums of Mumbai, did his homework and a couple of week later, barged into Varma's office dressed as Chandu and swung his feet up on the table.

Viveik was oozing confidence and his small act impressed Varma so much that he offered him Chandu's role instantly.

Since his "Company" days, Viveik has matured both as an actor and a human being. This time, he is playing safe and not talking much about his role because he wants his performance do the talking.

He said: "I would rather let my work speak for itself. I am looking forward to 'Omkara'. Vishal Bharadwaj has an excellent vision."

However, the promos of "Omkara" are out and those who have seen the rushes of the film are raving about Viveik and predict that he would be the surprise package of the movie.

The other big buzz is that he is coming back with Ajay Devgan with whom he shared amazing screen chemistry in "Company". Viveik worked with Ajay in Mani Ratnam's "Yuva" too and shows highest regard for his co-star and treats Ajay like his elder brother.

The movie is opening July 28 and Viveik is confident that "Omkara" will complete a hat trick of hits with Ajay since "Company" and "Yuva".

When asked about Saif Ali Khan, Viveik said that the actor is mind-blowing.

Viveik is definitely someone to watch out for in "Omkara".
