The tassel trend has a love-hate relationship with the runway. While it has been a go-to essential for the hippies at heart, the 'frivolous' piece of detail on your clothing doesn't always make the fashion police jump with joy. It does seem to have found its way back quite seamlessly into wardrobes and B-Town fashionistas are embracing the detail in their looks. However, thanks to its tricky nature, pulling it off isn't everyone's cup of tea. Here are a few dos and don'ts to introduce the trend into your wardrobes this season and unleash your inner boho babe.
Do wear it like EG
Esha Gupta adds oomph to this look. In a crop top with tassel paired with black booties and just a chunky statement necklace for an accessory, we are digging this unfussy yet chic look.
Don't wear it like Alia
Alia Bhatt paired denim shorts with a tank top and a floral fringe kimono jacket. At first glance, the look feels normal enough, but the usually well-turned out actress could have done a lot better. Replace those shorts with denims and those black Keds with heels and the tassel look might have been a lot more pronounced.
Do wear it like DP
Deepika Padukone keeps it breezy and chic in this off-duty look. The tassel shrug over her dress gives it an edgy feel while the accessories add a punch of panache. We have a minor gripe with the footwear; normally an ensemble like that would work well with block-heeled Brogues.
Don't wear it like Bips
The tassel trend is fluffy and slightly excessive; so, to wear it with lace, chunky gladiators and a bold red lip like Bipasha Basu here is a bit too overstated for our liking. The overall get-up feels crowded and full. As far as certain trends are concerned, neat is the new sexy.
