Looks like the movie adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's 'Half Girlfriend' starring Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor has been pushed back by nearly three months. Here's why...
Looks like the movie adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's 'Half Girlfriend' will not go on floors by the month-end as planned. The first schedule of Mohit Suri's directorial has apparently been pushed back by nearly three months due to a date mismatch of lead actors, Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
Says a source, `First, the makers grappled with casting issues and now that the lead pair has been locked, date issues are haunting them. Arjun and Shraddha are not available together on the required dates, and so, it will take longer for the film to roll. In all probability, the team of 'Half Girlfriend' will start shooting in May.`
Earlier, Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon had been finalised for the film slated for a 2016 summer release. However, both opted out of the project due to different issues. Then Shahid Kapoor's name did the rounds, but the makers finally settled for Arjun and Shraddha.
Mohit remained unavailable for comment, but a source working on the project says, `The makers won't be able to go ahead with the shoot by the end of this month, but they have secured the lead pair's dates in May. The pre-production work is already underway.`
Aman Gill, CEO, Balaji Telefilms which is producing the film, says, `We have locked our actors' dates and our shoot schedule is being planned accordingly. Until then the actors are doing workshops and basketball training to get into character for the film.`
