SRK cancels all his assignments over the next few days following his father-in-law's demise on Wednesday.
Shah Rukh Khan flew to New Delhi on late Tuesday night after his father-in-law Colonel Ramesh Chandra Chibber passed away. He was in his 70s. His last rites were performed at the Lodi Road crematorium on Wednesday morning (Watch Video). He is survived by his wife Savita, son Vikrant and daughter Gauri.
Colonel Chibber, who had been hospitalised, breathed his last at 8.55 pm. Gauri was in Delhi keeping vigil by his bedside for the past week.
SRK has now put his current assignments on hold and will stay in Delhi with Gauri's family. The star was shooting for 'Raees' in Mumbai on Tuesday.
SRK-Gauri's close buddy, filmmaker Karan Johar, who attended the funeral, yesterday tweeted, "Death is the only reminder of life." Sachin Joshi, Rajat Sharma and Rajiv Shukla were also spotted at the funeral.
Originally from Patti village in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab, Colonel Chibber had made Delhi his home.
