The world might be singing praises of Indian swashbuckler Virat Kohli for single-handedly guiding India to the semi-finals of the ICC World Twenty20 but the man of the moment is angry.

Reason? His split with Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma became the subject of most of the trolls 'celebrating' her split with the Indian star.

Most of the messages and jokes which were being circulated took a dig at how the gorgeous beauty's presence in Virat's life was nothing but a distraction. Some even blamed her for being the negative force.

While the memes and jokes were circulated every time Virat weaved magic with his willow, this time the young cricketer did not take it lying down.

Virat Kohli, took to Twitter blasting people for trolling Anushka by stating that she has only given him 'positivity'.

He also posted a longer message on his Instagram account.

Shame on those people who have been having a go at anushka for the longest time and connecting every negative thing to her. Shame on those people calling themselves educated. Shame on blaming and making fun of her when she has no control over what i do with my sport. If anything she has only motivated and given me more positivity. This was long time coming. Shame on these people that hide and take a dig. And i dont need any respect for this post. Have some compassion and respect her. Think of how your sister or girlfriend or wife would feel if someone trolled them and very conveniently rubbished them in public. #nocompassion#nocommonsense

This not the first time Virat has slammed people for hate ful attack on Anushka Sharma. After India's World Cup semifinal loss to Australia, more than Virat, it was his then girlfriend Anushka who bore the brunt of fans ire.

Just after the World Cup loss, another googly came from former cricketer and commentator Sunil Gavaskar who made a reference to his then lady-love.
