Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has released the trailer of `Azhar`, the upcoming biopic on former India skipper Mohammad Azharuddin.

On Thursday, the makers had unveiled the film`s motion poster.

The film will narrate the highs and lows of Azharuddin`s life as the captain of the Indian cricket team for most of the 1990s and being tainted by a match-fixing scandal in 2000, and getting banned for life.

Earlier, the makers had released a video clip of Azhar training Emraan as part of prepping for the film.

The film also features Prachi Desai as Azhar`s first wife Naureen, and Nargis Fakhri as his second wife Sangeeta Bijlani.

Directed by Tony D`Souza, `Azhar` is jointly produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and MSM Motion Picture.

`Azhar` is slated for release on May 13.
