If sources are to be believed then the premise of Udta Punjab is about drug traficking and rise in the use of drugs amongst the youths of Punjab. Apparently Udta Punjab is inspired from an investigative article published in a National magazine that shook the entire nation.

From past few days makers of the movie were literally tickling the curiosity gut of the fans, by strategically releasing the looks of movie`s star cast, but now they have finally released the much awaited trailer of the movie. And if we go by the appearances of the protagonists in the trailer then they were self explanatory where Kareena seems to be playing the character of a doctor, Diljit a cop and the movie`s main lead actors Shahid and Alia as drug peddlers.
