Emraan Hashmi starrer 'Azhar', which is based on the controversial life of cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin, is all set to hit theatres next month and promotions are in full swing. Now we hear the makers are in a fix as the cricketer insists that he be present during all promotional activities which is not exactly how the makers had planned it.
Says a source, "After completing initial round of combined interviews with Emraan Hashmi and Azharuddin, the makers are planning various ways of promoting the film with the entire star cast of Nargis Fakhri, Emraan and Prachi Desai. But it is difficult to have the cricketer around for all events."
Apparently the makers also feel that if Azharuddin were present at all media interactions, the focus would be on him and not on the star cast. Says another source, "To create a buzz around the film, it's important to bring these actor to the fore. If they do not get a chance to talk about the film and their experiences, it would become very difficult to lure audiences to theatres."
Producer Ekta Kapoor and Mohammed Azharuddin remained unavailable for comment while the spokesperson of the film denied the buzz.
