Starring Zulfi Syed, Yukta Mookhey and Aftab Shivdasani, A Muthu's Pyaasa is a much-awaited film. With four music directors, namely Nikhil Vinay, Daboo Malik, Sanjeev-Darshan and Anand Raaj Anand and lyricists like Faaiz Anwar, Dev Kohli and Praveen Bhardwaj, most people would expect an exceptional album. Unfortunately, this is not the case.
Milti Hai Jhukti Hai is the only bright spark in this otherwise dreary album. Sung by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan, the song has an ‘80s feel to it that is sure to catch one's attention. Milte Milte Sanam by Udit Narayan and Na Jaane Mera Kya Hoga by Sonu Nigam sound quite lacklustre and fail to leave a lasting impression.
Tere Pyar Ka Chhaya Nasha has two versions. Pick from Sunidhi Chauhan teaming up with Abhijeet or Adnan Sami with Sunidhi. Both duets are pretty good as thesingers belt out this number with much aplomb. Next up is Usko Pata Hai, a song that falls flat on its face. It leaves one feeling cheesed off rather than cheery. The blame can be placed squarely on Sudesh Bhosle and Narendra Bedi who sing the number.Aankhon Mein Leke Pyar has some dandiya music thrown in for good measure, but even that can't rev it up. Karsan Sargathiya joins Kavita Subramaniyam and Udit Narayan for this song.
Is Mohabbat Ke Siva is up next and it should be said that Alka Yagnik's and Sonu Nigam's singing leave a lot to be desired. This is not the case with Sardool Sikandar, the Punjabi munda who thoroughly enjoys himself as he spices up the track Soni Roop Di. Our Verdict? All in all, not worth bothering with.
