If recent happenings are any indication, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra's alleged relationship has hit a dead-end. What was considered to be a mere lovers' tiff initially seems to have snowballed into something more serious.
The lovebirds have not been spotted together recently. Hectic shooting schedules and other commitments may be keeping the two busy, but tongues have been wagging about the reasons behind their apparent distance from each other. From being spotted with a mystery girl at a nightspot to apparently expressing desire to work with his 'Ek Villain' (2014) co-star Shraddha Kapoor to bonding with Katrina Kaif, his co-star in his upcoming film, 'Baar Baar Dekho', Sidharth appears to have turned into a veritable ladies' man.
Says a source, "What got to Alia is Sidharth's overdoing to the point of irritation. He perhaps did not realise that doing all this would upset his ladylove. He finds himself working with leading ladies and seems to have got carried away. Also, finding herself constantly under the scanner for her equation with Sid, Alia just wants to immerse herself in work."
The two hit it off during the shoot of Kapoor & Sons which released earlier this year. They had even welcomed 2016 together in New York, say sources. They did not officially admit to the relationship, but there were enough telltale signs that they cared for each other. In the past, Sid had once said at an event that he had only love for Alia while the latter maintained he was family. He had also taken on her detractors on Twitter when she was trolled after a photo shoot the two had done.
The first whiff of things being amiss was Alia's absence at Sid's 'Baar Baar Dekho' wrap-up party (View Photos). Then there was buzz about Alia bonding with an ex flame that irked him. This was followed by Sid's bonding with Kat which made her see red.
Meanwhile, Alia took off for Singapore yesterday night for the shoot of Gauri Shinde's film. Sources close to the actress state that she does not want to talk about her personal life while Sidharth, who is currently shooting for 'Not Bang Bang 2' with Jacqueline Fernandez, chose not to comment.
