Chennai: The Central Crime Branch on Tuesday filed a chargesheet against the five accused in the Kushboo versus Maxim magazine case before the Chief Metropolitan
Magistrate Court Egmore.
The case was filed under section 292 A and 3,4,5 of Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1986 and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of
Women Act.
The five accused were editor of the magazine Sunil Mehra based in New Delhi, art director Anjan Das, publisher and printer Xavier Collaco, deputy general manager
Circulation Deepak Bhatt and regional circulation manager Fazal Hussain Khan.
The actress had filed a case against the Media Trans-Asia India Private Limited-owned Maxim magazine for publishing a morphed photograph of her in bikini.
While Deepak Bhatt and Fazal Hussian Khan were granted anticipatory bail by the Madras High Court in the case, the court rejected bail to Sunil Mehra, Anjan Das and
Xavier Collaco.
The accused approached Supreme Court for bail, which dismissed their application.
