This will be the actor's sixth film with Rohit after 'Zameen' (2003), 'Golmaal' (2006), 'Golmaal Returns' (2008), 'Singham' (2011), 'Golmaal 3' (2010) and 'Singham Returns' (2014).
Earlier, there were rumours of a rift between the actor and filmmaker, fuelled after the latter chose to work with Shah Rukh Khan in 'Chennai Express' (2013) and 'Dilwale' (2015) - SRK and Devgn are not exactly buddies. However, the two recently met and sorted out their differences. Devgn then gave Rohit a go-ahead for their next collaboration.
The film will have Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Arshad Warsi and Shreyas Talpade reprising their roles. A new actress might be brought on board to romance Devgn as Kareena Kapoor Khan, who featured in the first three instalments of the multi-starrer, is unlikely to star in the fourth part. The actress is due to deliver her first child in December and the shoot for 'Golmaal 4' is scheduled to kick off in October.
Since the 'Golmaal' team follows the tradition of greeting movie lovers on Diwali, Devgn has decided to push back the release of 'Son Of Sardaar 2'. "Since it involves action, the project will take more time to be completed. So, it was wise of Devgn to slot another film in its place," says a source about 'Son Of Sardaar 2'.
The actor is expected to start shooting for 'Golmaal 4' after 'Shivaay' hits theatres this Diwali (October 28).
